It was a beautiful morning at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal Wildlife Refuge in Commerce City. It has been quite a while since our last visit. No Buffalo last time and no Buffalo this time. I do not know where they hide, the area is pretty much all flatland. We were not expecting to see the Buffalo, we went for the birds and the King Fisher specifically. We walked around the lake and spotted a few of the familiar; Herons, Egrets, Cormorants and some squeaky little birds on the shore. They were pretty fast and I was happy to see they were clear in my photos. I am still not great at birds in flight but I did manage to capture a Heron. As we headed back to the car, there it was, the King Fisher munching on a crawdad. I kind of forgot we were hoping to see one, and there it was!
