This year we spent Thanksgiving in Indiana visiting family and meeting our new great nephew. Great time with the family!  We took the week off and drove from Denver to Kansas City, MO  through Nashville, TN and then up to Louisville, KY.  Our past trips to Indiana we never plan goof off time, but this time I made sure to build in quality time with the cameras. Kansas City was amazing! I had a few stops planned for our two night stay and we hit them all except for one.  Downtown was a fun shoot, lots of cool architecture and street art.  Street art is our new fascination, probably because we have been doing a fair amount of city shooting lately.  It was sunny and not too cold although I still wore a sweatshirt and a 32 degree jacket, beanie and gloves, but not too cold. Labor Day weekend is a chance to travel farther than a six hour radius from home and see more of this great country.  We try to go to places where half of America is not visiting the same sites.  Therefore, Kansas and Oklahoma! The goal of this trip was to shoot Natural Falls in Siloam Springs, Oklahoma.  Never made it.  We spent a lot of time on Kansas. All the road tips to Indiana to see family, there is absolutely nothing to shoot in Kansas, well not off I-70 anyway.  It wasn't until we headed south to Wichita that we found some cool stuff. First stop was Monument Rocks in Gove County. Kansas.  Rock formation in the middle of farm land. Erich flew the drone around and we snapped a few photos - great start to the trip!!
