It was time for a break from bird photography and do some landscape and stars, to change it up a bit. And, yes, I brought the bird lens, just in case. Well, it has been pretty smoky in Colorado due to the fires in California. I guess this is just how summer is now. The skies were clearing and if we go up high, in Medicine Bow, we could get past the smoke. At a two hour drive from Denver, Laramie, WY was the perfect home base.
The Wyoming Territorial State Historic Prison was a half a mile down the road from our tiny little AirBnB and naturally we had to check it out. The prison has been restored and has a very well appointed museum. There was a big exhibit on Butch Cassidy. No night photography, the rain rolled in while we were at the prison.
I picked up a 14 mm lens for the Fuji XE4, not bad. I do see a difference in clarity in my photos at 1/30 of a second. Neither the camera or lens has image stabilizer. Now I know, 1/30 is too slow. Low light was pretty good too. I shoot so dark that does a F2.8 really work for me? Almost all my lenses are F4.5. The interiors I had to beef up the iso to 3200 at minimal grain, pretty happy about that. Then I bleach bypassed them...adding grain. Really?

I processed this photos with an Infrared filter and a blur vignette. I like them!
