Bent's Old Fort - La Junta, Colorado

Sunny and 50 degrees and it was about time we get out of the house.  We decided to head down to La Junta to Bent's Old Fort.  Our first time out there was back in 2014.  It is a 3 hour drive from Denver and of course we took the back roads.  It was a trading post and a general meeting place for all sorts of people.  Later it became an outpost to protect against hostile Indians.  The original fort burned down and it was the drawings and measurements by Lieutenant James Albert in 1845 - 1846 which made it possible for the reconstruction on top of the original foundations.
